For this project, I created emulsion lifts on 2x3-inch glass slides with reproduced photographs sourced from 1940s and 1950s negatives — all of which are part of my family archive.
Considering the idea of the ‘unmonumental,’ I explored the concept of a family unit that exists only for a short time before members leave and others are born.
The manipulation and recapturing of the images speak to family memory that deteriorates with every generation.
